  Sandy's Place went up for sale a while back and I love this place so much I actually had a fleeting fantasy of buying it. This place is family run and is immensely popular with the locals.
  
  I grew up going to this place, starting on the high school swim team when we would head there for breakfast before a meet with a few teammates. There breakfasts are definitely top-notch diner style fare, yet it's the Walleye Sandwich that keeps me coming back. I think that sandwich single-handedly convinced my wife that Walleye was a great fish and that our Northern obsession with it wasn't just some weird eccentricity brought on by cold.
  
  The downside of being so popular is that it's going to take a little bit to get seated if you have a large party. Expect to see people you know there as well, so try not have a family fight or something.
